About marketing diagrams

Marketing and growth diagrams show how attention turns into customers, and how customers bring in more customers. They map funnels from awareness to advocacy, and lifecycle email sequences with their triggers and branches. They also cover content pipelines from keyword research to distribution, and growth loops where one user's action brings in the next user.

Growth marketers, lifecycle and email specialists, content leads, marketing ops teams and agencies use them to align teams and pitch plans. Because Infogiph diagrams are animated, the funnel from your planning doc can also go out as a GIF or MP4. Use it on LinkedIn, in a newsletter or in a client presentation.

A good marketing diagram ties every stage to something measurable. A funnel stage needs a definition, such as what makes a lead an MQL, and ideally the metric tracked there. Automation flows need a clear entry trigger, wait times, branch conditions and an exit rule, or nobody can audit them later. Growth loops must actually close, with the output of the loop visibly feeding its input. If a step cannot be measured, question whether it belongs.

Which template should you pick?

  • Pick Marketing Funnel Diagram when you want social, email and search channels feeding one campaign funnel, ready to relabel as buyer stages.
  • Pick Email Automation Flow Diagram when documenting a triggered sequence with delays, an opened-or-not branch, a conversion goal and an exit.
  • Pick Growth Loop Diagram when growth compounds through referrals, invites or user-generated content rather than coming only from paid spend.
  • Pick Content Marketing Workflow Diagram or SEO Process Diagram when the audience is your content team and the focus is steps, reviews and handoffs.
  • Pick Social Media Ecosystem when you want your brand at the center with its channels orbiting around it, ready to post as an animation.

Or generate one from a prompt

  • “Email onboarding sequence for a SaaS trial: signup trigger, welcome email, wait two days, branch on feature used, nudge or case study, upgrade goal.”
  • “Referral growth loop for a note-taking app: user shares a note, recipient views it, signs up to edit, creates notes, then shares again.”
  • “B2B marketing funnel with stage definitions: website visitor, content download, MQL by lead score, sales-accepted lead, opportunity, customer, and referral.”

Paste any of these into the Animated infographic maker to get an editable, animated diagram in seconds.

Tips for customizing marketing templates

  • Relabel the Marketing Funnel Diagram with your own stages, and add the metric you track at each stage to its label.
  • Use the Cycle style for the Growth Loop Diagram so the last step visibly feeds the first.
  • In email flows, name the trigger, every wait time and the exit condition. Unsubscribes and goal completions should always leave the sequence.
  • For social posts, export an MP4 or GIF at 9:16 for stories and short video, or at 4:5 for feeds.
  • Set the accent to your brand color with the Color button, and swap generic icons for channel logos such as Instagram, TikTok or YouTube.
