Org & People Templates

Org and people diagram templates — org charts, hiring pipelines, onboarding flows, team structures, and reporting lines to show how your organisation works.

About org & people diagrams

Org and people diagrams show how an organization is structured and how people move through it. Org charts show reporting lines from the CEO down to individual contributors. Matrix diagrams show dual reporting to functional and project leads, and team structure diagrams show how one cross-functional squad works day to day. Process views cover hiring pipelines, onboarding, performance reviews and RACI matrices.

HR and people operations teams, recruiters, founders and managers use them during growth, reorganizations and onboarding. A new hire uses an org chart to learn who does what. A hiring manager uses a pipeline diagram to agree stages and interviewers with a recruiter. A project lead uses a RACI chart to settle who decides before work starts.

A good org chart is accurate on the day you share it. Lead with roles and add names second, since people change jobs more often than the structure changes. Show open roles, make dotted-line relationships explicit, and keep each manager's span of control readable. In a RACI matrix, each task has exactly one Accountable person. Leave out salaries, ratings and personal details, even in internal versions that might be forwarded.

Which template should you pick?

  • Pick Org Chart Template when you need a reporting hierarchy from the CEO through executives and team leads to individual contributors.
  • Pick Matrix Organization Diagram Template when people report to both a functional manager and a project manager.
  • Pick Team Structure Diagram Template when showing the roles inside one cross-functional squad rather than the whole company.
  • Pick Hiring Pipeline Diagram Template or Employee Onboarding Flow Template when documenting how candidates or new hires move through each stage.
  • Pick RACI Responsibility Matrix Template when a project needs agreement on who is responsible, accountable, consulted and informed.

Or generate one from a prompt

  • “Org chart for a 40-person startup: CEO, CTO with platform and product engineering teams, VP Sales with SDRs and AEs, Head of Marketing, Operations.”
  • “Hiring pipeline for a senior backend engineer: sourcing, recruiter screen, take-home exercise, system design interview, team panel, reference checks, offer, and hired.”
  • “RACI matrix for a website redesign: marketing lead accountable, designer and developer responsible, legal and brand consulted, sales and support informed.”

Paste any of these into the AI org chart maker to get an editable, animated diagram in seconds.

Tips for customizing org & people templates

  • Label boxes with the role first and the person second, so the chart stays useful after people change jobs.
  • Mark open roles in their labels, such as Hiring: Senior Designer, so the chart doubles as a hiring plan.
  • Write dotted-line relationships into the label, for example Data Analyst (dotted line to CFO), because they are easy to miss otherwise.
  • Add an owner and a target duration to each hiring or onboarding stage, such as Recruiter screen (2 days), so delays become visible.
  • Keep salaries, performance ratings and personal contact details out of every version, including internal ones.
